Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan Widening Project Constrained

The land acquisition process of the north side of Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, that will be widened, is targeted by North Jakarta Administration to complete in upcoming December. At this time, the process is constrained by one more land lot to be acquisitioned.

We’re still having difficulties in finding the legal basis for the land compensation

The remaining land lot to be acquisitioned is the waqf land of Ar-Rahman Mosque at Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-District. The acquisition process of this land is constrained by the permit from Religious Ministry.

For information, Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan widening project was started three years ago and still not finished until now because of constrained by the acquisition of some land lots. As a result, some points which have been widened but not yet functioned are utilized as parking lots by the locals.

Responding on this matter, Head of North Jakarta Administration Spatial Planning and Land Affairs Sub-Division, Imam S, admitted having difficulties in acquiring the remaining land lot. Until now, his party is still coordinating with Religious Department Regional Office to find the legal basis for the compensation of land and mosque building which status is waqf.

“We’re still having difficulties in finding the legal basis for the land compensation. We are coordinating with Religious Department Regional Office, whether to swap (ruislag) or something else, so the process would not violate the rules,” he stated, Thursday (11/27).

Meanwhile, North Jakarta Administration Secretary, Junaedi, disclosed that not all parts of the mosque’s land are affected by the road widening. But since the land acquisition cannot be done partially, the whole land will be acquisitioned. From its total width of about 1,000 meters, the part of the land affected by the road widening project is only 195 meters on its yard.

“We hope that the land acquisition could be done immediately. Hopefully it would finish by upcoming December, thus the road widening project could be completed,” he uttered.
