Local authorities continue to prepare mitigation measures as they anticipate floods in the rainy season, after parts of Jakarta were already inundated on Sunday.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast that Jakarta will see light to medium rain today, Tuesday (11/9).

"Rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds to hit South, West, and East Jakarta in the late afternoon or at night," stated BMKG's official site.

At noon, thunderstorm will hit West and East Jakarta; heavy rain in South Jakarta; light rain in Central and North Jakarta; cloudy in Thousand Islands.

In the evening, all regions of Jakarta will see cloudy.

Then at tomorrow's dawn, cloudy is expected in West, Central, South, East and North Jakarta; rain with medium intensity in Thousand Islands.

Temperatures in Jakarta are predicted at 24 to 32 degrees Celsius with air humidity of 75 to 95 percent.
