Food Aid Distributed to People Affected by Tidal Floods in Ancol

This kitchen prepares 1,000 meals every day for three days ahead

People affected by tidal flood or locally known as rob in RW 08, Ancol Urban Village, Pademangan Sub-district, North Jakarta, received packaged rice meals.

Ancol Urban Village Head, Rusmin said, to provide more meals, the Disaster Preparedness Village (KSB) set up a public kitchen at the location.

"This kitchen prepares 1,000 meals every day for three days ahead. It is distributed door-to-door to residents through local RT/RW caretakers and Satpol PP," he expressed, Wednesday (12/8).

He explained, tidal floods once again inundated Jalan Lodan Raya and four neighborhoods (RT) in RW 08 since 11 AM with a water level of 20-40 centimeters.

"Those neighborhoods are RT 02, 03, 10 and 11 with 250 households. Alhamdulillah, it's not as bad as last Tuesday," he explained.

Until 2:30 PM, the water level only leaves about 10-15 centimeters.

"We're still on standby with the related regional apparatus organizations (OPD). I'm also working on having a free health checkpoint at the urban village office," he stated.
