Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya Launches Whistleblowing System

City-owned developers Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya held a Discussion and Launching of Whistleblowing System (WBS) which coincided with World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia), which is commemorated every December 9, on Thursday (12/9).

It presented a number of speakers, namely Task Force III Directorate's Public Reports and Complaints Service for KPK Head, Sofwan Hadi; Governance and Corporate Affairs Department Head, Prima Margareth; and Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya's Administration and Finance Director, Bima Priya Santosa.

Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya President Director, Agus Himawan said, the company has a high commitment to fostering public trust through strengthening the integrity of all elements of the company, especially the integrity of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya itself.

"WBS itself is a system that manages complaints regarding unlawful acts, and/or unethical/undue acts which can be easily accessed on the official company website: Sarana-jaya.co.id," he expressed, on the sidelines of a Discussion and Launching of WBS in one of hotels, Cikini, Central Jakarta.

To respond complaint, he explained, the whistleblower's data would be kept confidential and would be used to optimize employee participation in disclosing violations that occurred in the company.

"We previously inaugurated the Good Corporate Governance (GCG) order in this month. This is an ongoing effort for Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya to improve itself in terms of compliance to run its daily business processes," he explained.

According to him, violations committed in the operational activities of a corporation can be implemented in various ways by internal company persons. These violations could occur against internal regulations, as well as regulations outside the company which have the potential to have legal consequences, as well as financial consequences.

He added, this whistleblowing system was held to create an honest and clean corporate culture from all actions that violate the principles of GCG, basic values, code of ethics, norms and regulations that apply in the company, as well as applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia and part of a commitment to support anti-bribery programs.

Then as a guide for all employees of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya in understanding the procedures for submitting information about alleged irregularities or violations that have the potential to harm the company and protection for whistleblowers and other parties related to reports of violations in accordance with GCG principles.

"By so, we also want to ensure reports of violations are followed up quickly and accurately. Including prevent and detect violations through an early warning system and create a conducive, clean and responsible work environment and situation," he explained.

He then asserted that it would be a turning point in strengthening the integrity of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya in developing anti-fraud functions, strategies, and systems, as well as implementing the gratification control program that could be accommodated with this system.

"I prompt the leadership and all employees of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya not to hesitate to report if they see or know of any violations, especially regarding this corruption crime," he continued.

Jakarta Advisory Board for BUMD Head, Riyadi hoped that the Anti-Corruption Day today could be a commitment for all not to commit corruption.

"This system is very important to build personal, organizational integrity between Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya with other BUMDs," he stated.

Until now, he added, there were already four BUMDs including PT MRT Jakarta and Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya which implemented the system and other identical mechanisms with the same goal of preventing and handling corruption.

"There are WBS, SMAP and 37001. These systems are very important as an internal control. Hence, BP BUMD will encourage nine other BUMDs to soon implement a similar system," he asserted.

Task Force III Directorate's Public Reports and Complaints Service for KPK Head, Sofwan Hadi uttered that he said BUMD should be built in professional, accountable and transparent ways.

"The courage to be part of a whistleblower is part of upholding the truth. In principle, we enforce see, fight and report. This system is very useful for preventing corporate corruption, optimizing early detection methods and increasing the synergy of ministries, institutions, organizations and BUMDs," he stated.

As for the information, the meeting was also attended by Public Housing and Settlement Agency Head, Sarjoko; Transportation Agency Head, Chaidir; and several chief editors of the media and its representatives.
