City Holds Jakarta Tourism Business Forum until December 5

The 2014 Jakarta Tourism Business Forum (JTBF) is currently being held at Millenium Hotel, Central Jakarta, by Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department until upcoming December 5. It is a business forum designed to bring together all stakeholders in Jakarta tourism industry (acting as sellers) and tourism entrepreneurs, particularly travel agencies, from various cities in Indonesia as well as ASEAN countries (acting as buyers).
There are about 100 sellers from Jakarta and 197 buyers from 30 cities in Indonesia and 6 ASEAN countries participate in the 2014 JTBF
“There are about 100 sellers from Jakarta and 197 buyers from 30 cities in Indonesia and 6 ASEAN countries participate in the 2014 JTBF. The sellers come from six sectors, namely hotel, airline, tourism object, shopping center, transportation, and travel agency. The domestic buyers come from Bali, Balikpapan, Batam, Makassar, Manado, Padang, et cetera, while the international buyers come from Thailand, Philippine, Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia,” uttered Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department, Arie Budiman, when opening the event, Tuesday (12/2).
According to Budhiman, the 2014 JBFT is one strategic ways done by his department to promote Jakarta tourism destinations progressively. In this forum, Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department acts as facilitator that brings sellers and buyers together with a hope there would be cooperation and positive synergy between Jakarta’s tourism industry and regional as well as international level.
PT KAI will Improve Train Stations and Arrange Railway Crossings“The peak of this event will be held on Wednesday (12/3) morning during the Table Top session which targeting Rp 15 billion transactions there,” he disclosed.
During the Table Top session, Budhiman continued, various tourism products, which packaged innovatively using business to business (B2B) concept, will be introduced.
“In Table Top session, the transactions between sellers and buyers are expected to continue. This event is only facilitating, so the initial Rp 15 billion transactions target would keep developing,” he said.
Budhiman stated that Jakarta is also one of the regions introduced as a tourism destination in this forum. The activity will be opened by theatrical show of Topeng Jakarta Jaya Raya performed by Abang None Jakarta Theater and some other celebrities.
But before that, Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama will officially open the Table Top session. Afterwards, all participants will watch the sunset at Jakarta bay from aboard Quicksilver vessel. This activity will be followed by Gathering Party Night and the 2014 JTBF will be closed by Jakarta City Tour Friday (5/12).
