The North Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency has noted that as many as 2,427 two- and four-wheeled vehicles have been netted due to illegal parking throughout 2021.

Sanctions given range from towing with the obligation to pay fines

According to Harlem Simanjuntak, Sub-agency Head of North Jakarta Transportation, those 2,427 vehicles consisted of 2,260 were cars and 167 were motorcycles.

"Sanctions given range from towing with the obligation to pay fines. This is to give a deterrent effect," he expressed, Tuesday (1/4).

Additionally, personnel also imposed sanctions on the revocation of operations for 348 public and goods transportations.

"We act for violating the rules such as, vehicle is no longer fit for operation, pick up-drop off passengers in forbidden place, doesn't fit the route until it expires or doesn't have a Vehicle Test Certificate (STUK)," he closed.
