Illegal Parking and Congestion, Sidewalk alongside Jalan Cideng Timur Controlled

Joint officers under the Central Jakarta administration have controlled the sidewalk alongside Jalan Cideng Timur, Petojo Selatan, Gambir or Tasik Market area. It was done, as the sidewalk was often used as a parking lot, causing traffic jam around the location

Officers will be on standby around the market in a bid to monitor the sidewalk from illegal parking and street vendors

Central Jakarta Vice Mayor Irwandi disclosed it was conducted to follow up on resident protests about congestion around Tasik Market area.

"Together with the management, we have discussed the congestion problem on Jalan Cideng Timur caused by street vendors outside the market area," he expressed, Thursday (3/18).

According to him, it was also worsened by the motorists and bajajs parked on the sidewalk and the roadside," he stated.

Gambir Sub-district Transportation Executing Unit Head, Charles Samosir added the illegal parking raid was often conducted to anticipate the congestion.

"Officers will be on standby around the market in a bid to monitor the sidewalk from illegal parking and street vendors," he closed.
