Jakarta Stipulates 14 Tax Objects as Cultural Conservation

The Jakarta administration has designated 14 tax objects as cultural conservation along 2020-2021. It is a mandate contained in Law number 11/2010 on Cultural Conservation as an effort to preserve.

"This stipulation becomes a clear legal basis as the basis for the preservation of cultural conservation. It is also part of our efforts to protect Jakarta's cultural assets," said Jakarta Culture Agency Head, Henry Wardhana, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Friday (1/7).

He explained, he had gone through a study that was verified by the Jakarta Cultural Heritage Expert Team. Its verification was done by conducting surveys, researching the bibliography, and conducting study discussion.

"The process of compiling the study is carried out in several discussion meetings to produce study documents that can be legally and scientifically accounted for," he explained.

Hence, criteria for determining the object to become a cultural conservation were, among others, 50 years of age or older; represents a style that is at least 50 years old; has special meaning for history, science, education, religion, and/or culture; and has cultural values for strengthening the nation's personality.

Here are 14 objects that have been designated as cultural conservation:

4. Tjipta Niaga Building

5. Proclamation Memorial

6. Proclamation House

7. Proclamation Monument

8. Independence Pioneer Building

9. Amunisi Petukangan Warehouse

10. Vincentius Putri Building Complex

11. Building 1, Building 2, and Building 3 in State Film Production General Company Complex

12. Jatinegara Train Station

13. Railway Bridge, Jalan Matraman Raya

14. Terowongan Tiga Railway Bridge

"Hopefully, this building that has been designated as a cultural conservation can make people know more about history. We also invite the community to jointly maintain its sustainability, he hoped.
