South Jakarta Satpol PP: 1,713 People Netted for Not Wearing Masks in a Week

The South Jakarta Satpol PP has noted that they have caught around 1,713 violators in the mask-wearing operation in ten sub-districts from February 7 to 13, 2022, or in a week.

In total, 49 business places are subject to strict sanctions following PPKM level 3 regulations in the capital

Ujang Harmawan, Head of South Jakarta Satpol PP said, 1,706 were subject to social work sanctions and seven others paid administrative fines with a total of Rp 550,000. The sanction was given as a deterrent effect.

"Besides that, we also disperse crowds in ten locations," he expressed, Thursday (2/17).

During that week, he was also intensifying health protocols monitoring against 249 restaurants. As a result, two were disbanded, 14 were subject to written sanctions, 30 were temporarily closed for three to seven days, and one business owner was penalized with an administrative fine of Rp 15 million.

"In total, 49 business places are subject to strict sanctions following PPKM level 3 regulations in the capital," he uttered.

The same action was also spotted in 86 offices and 137 other business places. As a result, three office managers and seven businesses were penalized with a written warning.

"Then 85 offices and 130 business places have implemented health protocols following the rules," he concluded.
