1,759 Residents Netted in Mask-Wearing Operation in a Week

The South Jakarta Satpol PP has noted that as many as 1,759 residents have been netted in the mask-wearing operation held in ten sub-districts from February 14-20.

In total, we have managed to collect a fine of Rp 1.6 million

According to Ujang Harmawan, Head of South Jakarta Satpol PP, around 1,740 were subject to social work sanctions.

"Then 19 others prefer to pay administrative fines. In total, we have managed to collect a fine of Rp 1.6 million," he expressed, Wednesday (2/23).

Aside that, he also collaborated with related stakeholders to launch health protocols monitoring in some areas.

"As a result, we have dispersed around 20 crowds of residents because they ignored the social distancing in those locations," he said.

Similar action was also spotted in restaurants and other business places spread over 10 sub-districts throughout South Jakarta.

"For the office, we send one written warning, two offices are temporarily closed for 3x24 hours, and the remaining 98 offices have implemented health protocols according to applicable regulations," he added.

Similar action was also intensified in 325 restaurants during the past week. The officers managed to disperse crowds in 24 restaurants, send written warnings to 10 entrepreneurs, and temporarily close 10 locations for one to three days.

"Then nine out of 158 other business places are subject to a written warning, while the rest have implemented the rules," he said.
