The monitoring targeted fresh food circulation in traditional markets under Perumda Pasar Jaya; supermarkets; fishery centers in Muara Angke, Kali Baru, and Cilincing; agricultural centers in Kramat Jati Central Market and Cipinang Rice Central Market.
Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati stated, this year, her side targeted to test out 21,489 fresh food samples of the agricultural, fishery, and livestock commodities on the markets.

"The purpose is to provide quality assurance of food safety that will be consumed by the public," she added, Monday (2/28).
Her side deployed a team of about 30 people to carry out fresh food monitoring which targeted five locations in each municipality. The team consisted of verification and data officers, laboratory officers, Korwas PPNS of Polda Metro Jaya, and Jakarta KPKP Agency PPNS.
According to her, it was not only carried out directly but also online where the samples would be tested in a laboratory.
"People's awareness of food safety is high. Based on last year's monitoring results, the safety level of fresh food is 99.95 percent free from hazardous materials," she conveyed.
