City Ready to Take Over Persija Shares

Jakarta Provincial Government says ready to take over Persija Jakarta football club in order to resolve the financial problems which still continue to haunt them. Jakarta government is willing to prepare Rp 50 billion each year to pay Persija player salary and management until bonus.

They (Persija) better sell their shares to us if they still have financial problems. We ready to purchase it

 

City Secretary, Saefullah disclosed that Jakarta government will take over Persija management as long as they must be willing to sell the majority stake that still in form of a Limited Liability Company (PT).

"If PT Persija is tendered, we will change it into Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD)," he stated, at City Hall, Monday (12/8).

 

According to him, such takeover must be done by replacing the legal entity of the PT into BUMD. It could be realized if the Persija Jakarta willing to sell their shares to Jakarta government.

 

"They (Persija) better sell their shares to us if they still have financial problems. We ready to purchase it," he expressed.

 

He added, Jakarta government is also ready to do the best things for Persija club coached by Rahmat Darmawan to win the Indonesia Super League (ISL).

 

"If it has officially become ours, we will buy good players or foreign players, as well as create a good football education," he uttered.
