239 Jakarta Functional Officials Inaugurated

City Secretary, Marullah Matali swore in 239 state civil apparatuses (ASN) serving under the Jakarta administration as functional officials. It was conducted by teleconferencing.

According to him, those 289 employees were from Education, Fire and Rescue agencies, as well as inspectorates.

Its inauguration was according to the State Civil Service Agency's Circular Letter number 10/SE/IV/2020 on the Inauguration and Taking of Oaths/Promises of Civil Servants or Oaths/Promises of Position through Electronic Media/Teleconference during Certain Emergency Status Periods of Disasters due to the COVID-19 Outbreak while still prioritizing physical distancing/physical distancing adhering to health protocols for those who are limited in attendance.

"This functional position is a group of positions that contains functions and tasks related to functional services based on certain skills and expertise," he expressed, as quoted in a written statement received by beritajakarta.id, Wednesday (3/9).

"As well as serving the community with a conscience, sincere, friendly, smiling, strongly guided by the professional code of ethics and obeying the oath or promise that has been made today," he stressed.

He went on to say that the year 2022 is the determination of the regional strategic vision, mission, and programs following the 2017-2022 mid-term regional development plan (RPJMD).

Hence, they were required to assist the SKPD in completing all the targets of the RPJMD, KSD, Regional Head Promises, and regional priority issues as stated in the Governor's Instruction number 49/2021 on the Settlement of Regional Priority Issues 2021-2022.

"Let's work optimally and collaborate in teams to make positive contributions according to your duties and responsibilities to accelerate bureaucratic reform and improve the quality of human resources. The government bureaucracy must continue to be managed with the principles of good and professional governance," he continued.

He added that they were also expected to implement the values of the work culture of Jakarta employees following Gubernatorial Regulation number 54/2020, including integrity, collaboration, accountability, innovation, and justice.

"Hope they can improve their morale, work in teams, be disciplined, and obey the rules in providing more professional public services, accompanied by dedication, loyalty, integrity (honesty), and rejecting the slightest gratification, extortion, and corruption," he added.
