150 Joint Personnel Deployed to Clean Channels in RW 08 Karang Anyar

As many as 150 joint personnel from Sawah Besar Sub-district, Central Jakarta are deployed to clean the water channels in the densely populated area in RW 08 Karang Anyar Urban Village, on Sunday (3/20).

Soon or later, the weekly community work will be scheduled in every RT

This is part of the Gerebek Lumpur action that is led by Central Jakarta Secretary Iqbal Akbarudin, which aims to maximally accommodate rainwater and prevent inundation when it rains.

"The mud thickness in the channels has reached between 20 to 30 centimeters," he said.

He hoped that the action could increase public awareness to keep the environment clean, comfortable, and healthy.

"It also involves locals to clean the front yard of their house," he expressed.

RW 08 Chairman Yunus thanked the Central Jakarta administration staff who had visited and helped clean up the channels in his area.

"Soon or later, the weekly community work will be scheduled in every RT," he uttered.

As for the information, the joint personnel involved in the field are from the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, Environment Sub-agency, Bina Marga Sub-agency, Satpol PP, LMK, PPSU, PKK, Jumantik, Dasawisma, and locals.
