The 16-meter-long drain in RW 07 Kemayoran Timur, Central Jakarta which is under repair since yesterday is targeted for completion next month before Eid-ul Fitr.
This is done to follow up on residents' aspirations
Kemayoran Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head Supriyadi said the work progress has touched eight meters long or around 50 percent. It is carried out manually through ten workers.
"This is done to follow up on residents' aspirations when the cleanup action was conducted at that location," he expressed, Tuesday (3/22).
Water Channel on Panggang Island RepairedAccording to him, the channel could not accommodate water optimally due to blockage. As a result, it caused puddles.
"To smoothen the flow of water, we do widening about 60 centimeters and one meter high using river stones without U-ditch," he explained.
After it was done, locals were expected to take care and no longer throw garbage into the channel.
The action got appreciation from Kemayoran Urban Village Head Rachmat Fadjar. Moreover, all residents in RW 07 hoped to be free from flooding.
"So, the water in the channel can flow directly into the Ciliwung River tributary," he stated.
