Dinkes Commemorates World Tuberculosis Day 2022 in Kampung Susun Aquarium

The Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) held a commemoration of World Tuberculosis Day 2022 in the Kampung Susun Akuarium (vertical village), Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta, on Thursday (3/31).

Hope this cross-sectoral involvement can quikcly eliminate TB in Jakarta

Dinkes Head Widyastuti disclosed the event was held in the Kampung Akuarium to give equal attention to health for all residents, especially residents in flats, one of which was in the Kampung Susun Akuarium.

"TB is also the responsibility of all agencies which will be carried out through the signing of a joint commitment to the elimination movement, overcoming tuberculosis across sectors," she expressed.

According to her, a series of commemorations were held from the morning until the afternoon. The Dinkes health team assisted by health workers from the Penjaringan Sub-district Health Center together with other health cadres held a health screening to anticipate the early spread of TB disease, non-communicable diseases, and booster vaccinations for residents, as well as volunteer training for PPSU officers related to the first rescue in accidents.

"We also launched a health innovation in the form of the Tuberculosis Prevention Therapy (TPT) program, which is a TB prevention therapy through games thus sufferers avoid stigmatization and discrimination," she added.

Jakarta Social Welfare Bureau Head Iwan Kurniawan added that his party appreciates the concern and response of agencies outside the Dinkes in handling TB, where several health activities have been collaborated in handling it.

"Hope this cross-sectoral involvement can quickly eliminate TB in Jakarta," he hoped.
