Hasan Basri Saleh: ASN Must Work Well to Formulate Jakarta Specificity Bill

The Jakarta administration is currently preparing the formulation of the Jakarta Specificity Bill (RUU). The State Civil Apparatus (ASN) involved in the formulation must work well as it will determine Jakarta in the future when it no longer holds the State Capital (IKN).

The statement above was conveyed by Jakarta Governor’s Team for Accelerated Development (TGUPP) Hasan Basri Saleh when he was a speaker for the Public Communication Talk (Kopitalk) for the third session of 2022 Jakarta Diskominfotik with the theme Jakarta: Milestone and After No Longer the Capital which was held virtually.

"In the era of Governor Fauzi Bowo, there was already a plan for Jakarta until 2030 with an investment value of Rp 900 trillion. That is the past, but now the amount could reach Rp 2,000.trillion," he expressed, Sunday (4/10).

He explained that was a lot. To become a global business center city, Jakarta should build the best facilities and services such as airports, ports, and state campuses. All of Jakarta's main needs in the future must be defined in the Jakarta Specificity Bill.

"My advice is all civil servants should focus on the formulation of the Jakarta Specificity Bill," he said, who had served as Economic Assistant for City Secretary from 2010 to 2014.

He added that it is also necessary to convey effective and efficient information to the public regarding the process of transferring the status of the State Capital, thus the community can prepare and support various government plans.

"For me, the public wants to know that what is said is true. The public will want to know. What effect does it have on them? So we have to tell them," he closed.
