Thousands of Jakarta civil servants serving under Jakarta Provincial Government this month will be overhauled massively. The policy initiated by Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama aims to combat unruly employees.
Officials who would be overhauled are those who have bad performance or unsatisfactory
But Ahok assumes the overhaul lead to rejection among civil
servants. But, he ignores it.
"If you (civil servant) are hurt and don't like my
decision, just do demonstration with GMJ and FPI. They need more people to
protest me, I think there are only 2,000 people participated. They also took people
from out of city," exclaimed Ahok on the sidelines of Budget Management
Strategy Talkshow, at City Hall, Thursday (12/11).
He disclosed that such overhaul is dedicated to 6,000
echelon-II, III, and IV officials and will be done by the end of this month.
"Officials who would be overhauled are those who have
bad performance or unsatisfactory," he expressed.
Besides smart, according to him, good civil servants must
have an honest conscience. He also has had its own assessment from officials’
performance indicators for three months. If the performance is bad, they will
immediately be demoted.
"I hope there will be a report to me. If you work well
and unhappy, just mutate yourself, report it to me. I'll analyze it soon,"
he asserted.
