Food Products Inspection Keeps Being Intensified Ahead of Eid al-Fitr

Together with the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), the South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-agency intensifies food inspection in traditional and modern markets ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Food Security and Agriculture Division Head Nila Kartina said the focus was on agricultural, livestock, and fishery commodities.

"We want to ensure that agricultural, livestock, and fishery food products sold in markets are free from harmful substances," she expressed, Tuesday (4/19).

Jakarta Collaborates to Ensure Safe Food Stock During Ramadan

During Ramadan, she held two of the three food product inspection activities. The first was at Transmart Cilandak Modern Market, four traditional markets in Pasar Minggu, Mampang Prapatan, Warung Buncit, and Lenteng Agung, including in Pondok Indah on March 30, 2022.

"We plan to do the same action at the Mayestik Market on April 26, 2022," she added.

From the inspection, 95 samples of agricultural products, 35 samples of livestock, and 76 samples of fisheries had been tested in the laboratory.

"Alhamdulillah, they are free from harmful substances. We also carry out vegetable inspections to determine the pesticide content and spoilage level of the meat products sold," she closed.
