Latest Data on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of April 19, 2022

The Jakarta Government continues to control the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the past week, 52,946 people were tested using PCR

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia explained, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, the number of active cases in Jakarta today declined by 137 cases, thus total active cases as of today reached 2,231 cases (people who are still in treatment/isolation).

"People should be aware of Omicron variant transmission which is on the rise in Jakarta. While COVID-19 vaccination is still proceeding with a broader scope, 3T should be intensified," she said according to a press release issued by Jakarta PPID on Tuesday (4/19).

Data from the Jakarta Health Agency detailed that from a total of 9,548 PCR specimens, 7,253 people had been tested today to diagnose new cases which resulted in 179 positive and 7,074 negative cases.

Antigen test was also carried out today on 26,411 people with 84 positive and 26,327 negative results. Please note that positive antigen results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all of them were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 1,228,519 people recovered with a recovery rate of 98.6% and 15,252 people died with a mortality rate of 1.2%. While the mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.6%.

On the other hand, the WHO test targets 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that the WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.

"This target has been exceeded by Jakarta for some time. In the past week, 52,946 people were tested using PCR. While the number of people tested for PCR in Jakarta has now reached 991,692 per million population," she added.

The positivity rate in Jakarta in the past week reached 3.4%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 11.8%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage should be no more than 5%.

Meanwhile, the vaccination program is continued. The first dose had been given to 12,510,997 people (124.1%) with a proportion of 70.2% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 29.8% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. From that amount, 2,187 people had been injected with the first dose today.

The second dose had been given to 10,638,988 people (105.5%) with a proportion of 73.3% of them were residents with Jakarta ID cards and 26.7% residents with non-Jakarta ID cards. Of that amount, 4,855 people had been injected with the second dose today.

The third dose (booster) had been given to 3,349,033 people as of today. Of that amount, 80,704 people had been injected with the third dose today (Note: Data on the third vaccination figure is lower due to difficulties in retrieving data from the KPCPEN dashboard).

The government continued to provide isolation beds and ICU beds for COVID-19 patients. Based on the latest data on April 17, 2022, in a total of 140 referral hospitals, there were 4,719 isolation beds with a bed occupancy rate of 6% and a total of 292 isolation patients. Then, 721 ICU beds with a bed occupancy rate of 11% and a total of 81 ICU patients.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanctions for anyone who does not wear a mask and violates health protocols and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PPKM violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on the daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on April 18, 2022, they had conducted a mask operation with a collected fine of Rp 750,000. Hopefully, all residents could be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.

Those of you who want to get vaccinated can go directly to the vaccination site. You can register online first through the JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, choose the time and place of vaccination, as well as to conduct online health pre-screening tests.

Vaccination sites can be checked through the google maps app. Only by writing 'vaksin COVID-19', you can get information about vaccination site locations and how to get there.

The Government is still opening opportunities for residents who want to assist others affected by COVID-19 through the Large-scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) program. Residents can assist in form of staple food, ready meals, or funds. Detailed information regarding KSBB can be accessed via the site https://corona.jakarta.go.id.
