Commemorating May Day, Jakarta Holds Social Activities to Help Laborers

To commemorate May Day 2022 which coincides with the Holy month of Ramadan, the Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency and Tripartite Cooperation Institution (LKS Tripartite) held a social activity. The activity with the theme "Ketupat May Day - Achieving Victory by Prioritizing Friendship towards Industrial Peace" aims to ease the laborers' burden.

Hope it can help them in welcoming the upcoming Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Sunday (4/24).

1. 5-kg Rice
2. 1-liter Cooking Oil
3. 1-kg Sugar
4. 1-bottle Marjan Syrup
5. 1-kg Bogasari Flour
The bazaar itself offered 1,000 packages of food with the original price of Rp 227,752 and would be sold for Rp 125,000.
There would also be 4,100 free food distributions from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, 300 packages from APINDO, 300 packages from KADIN, and 200 packages from PT JIEP.
Then food items would be given to laborers in Jakarta and ended with gathering as well as breaking the fast together filled with Tausiyah (sermons) and prayers, including compensation and gifts to 40 orphans from laborers.
It is one of the work programs of the Jakarta Tripartite LKS with collaboration between the Federation of Trade Unions/Labor Unions, the Employers' Association, several representatives of companies, BUMD, and related stakeholders.
