35 SMA/SMK Forced to Extend Their Permit

Due to expire of operating license in some schools, as many as 35 private high schools (SMA) and private vocational schools (SMK) in North Jakarta are threatened to be closed.

We will check again in upcoming January, and close the schools that have not extend their permit

Based on the inventory taken by North Jakarta Secondary Education Sub Department (Sudin Dikmen) from August to September, 70 private vocational schools in North Jakarta, 21 of them have yet extended the operating license. While from 68 private high schools, as many as 14 schools known to have not updated the permission.

Those schools are SMK Al-Mutaqin Penjaringan, SMK Yusha Tanjung Priok, SMK Syahid Cilincing, SMK Lagoa Koja, SMA Kristen Yusuf Penjaringan, SMA Tunas Gading Kelapa Gading, SMA Pusaka Nusantara Tanjung Priok, and SMA Nusantara Cilincing.

Private School Students will Receive KJP Next Year

North Jakarta Secondary Education (Dikmen) Sub Department Head, Mustafa Kemal, said not only national standard schools which have not update their permit, but also the international standard schools.

"We provide an opportunity for schools to extend their permission until the end of this year," said Mustafa Kemal, Sunday (12/14).

He admitted, specifically for international school, the permit is issued by Culture and Elementary and High School Department Ministry. However, Kemal added, the schools also must have the recommendation of the Sudin Dikmen of North Jakarta and Jakarta Education Department.

"We will check again in upcoming January, and close the schools that have not extend their permit," he disclosed.
