Jakarta Education Department will evaluate 2,599 principals, began from elementary, junior high school, senior high school and vocational school to realize the children-friendly, green, clean, beautiful, safe, convenient, transparent, accountable and integrity school management.

"The school management is intended to develop the school building with clean environment, free from violence and become a schools with transparent and accountable financial management," said Lasro Marbun, Dept. of Education Head, Thursday (11/12).

Unfortunately, added Marbun, as many as 2,599 public schools in six areas of the capital, only 78 schools are already declaring since it was launched last November.

Marbun argued that the spirit shown by declaring a school with accountable and transparent management can be one of the evaluation indicators.

"Because it’s possible to dismiss the principal who do not declare their school," added Marbun.

According to Marbun, the application of transparency and accountability concept needs to be implemented in state schools in Jakarta. It aims to control the usage of Education Operational Assistance (BOP) and the School Operational Assistance (BOS) which predicted next year to reach Rp 1.38 trillion.

Meanwhile, North Jakarta Secondary Education Department, Mustafa Kemal explained, there are 17 state high schools and 8 state vocational schools in his region. And all of them have joint this program.

Kemal expected, after the declaration, it is not only to create a clean school management, but also to prevent illegal payments (bribes). Because, he gained a reports of illegal payments made by two principals and four teachers in Pademangan Sub-district previously.

"The process is still going. They could be punished through PP No. 53/2010 about Civil Servant Discipline. Minimum punishment is cutting the allowance or mutation. The highest is dismissal," he disclosed.
