Two Excavators Deployed to Accelerate Cawang Reservoir Outlet Construction

The East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency has deployed a wheeled excavator and long-arm excavator to accelerate Cawang Reservoir outlet construction in RW 01, Cawang, Kramat Jati.

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Drainage Improvement and Development Section Head Tengku Saugi Zikri mentioned that his side had formerly deployed a medium-wheeled excavator to dig the canal. Then, a long arm excavator was deployed to accelerate the work.

According to him, the 87-meter-long channel was dug with a depth of about 3-7 meters.

"We continue to accelerate the construction of the Cawang Reservoir outlet that leads to the Ciliwung River. So far, there have been no problems in the field," he conveyed, Wednesday (5/18).

At the location, his side had provided 20 U-Ditch with the size of 1.2x1.2 meters that would be installed after excavation along 87 meters. This outlet would be connected to the natural river with a length of 50 meters.

Furthermore, the river would be also normalized and installed with river stones as high as 1.5 meters and a width of 2 meters.

"Dolken woods will be installed after U-Ditch to prevent landslide due to excavation," he added.

During reservoir and outlet construction, his side also provided two mobile pumps with a capacity of 300 liters per second to anticipate inundation in RT 04 and 05, RW 01, Cawang.

After the reservoir was completed, hopefully, the wastewater from residents and Signature Park Apartment, as well as rainwater on Jalan Dewi Sartika could be accommodated in Cawang Reservoir before being channeled through an outlet to the Ciliwung River.
