70 Stalls Under Pagi Asemka Market Flyover Demolished

As many as 35 joint personnel from Tambora Sub-District Satpol PP, army/police, and Jakarta Transportation Department tore down 70 stalls belong to street vendors under Pagi Asemka Market Flyover, Roa Malaka Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, West Jakarta, Thursday (12/18).

Those stalls consumed nearly half of the road, thus making the traffic on both sides of the road became hard to pass, especially by cars

These stalls are demolished because they were jutting onto roadsides and hindering the traffic. Thus, after this demolition, the traffic on Jalan Tongkangan and Jalan Pintu Kecil is expected would smooth again.

“Those stalls consumed nearly half of the road, thus making the traffic on both sides of the road became hard to pass, especially by cars. As a result, severe traffic congestion happened. After this, we’ll deploy Satpol PP personnel to secure the area and send three patrol cars to go on patrol at night,” stated Head of Tambora Sub-District, Yunus Burhan.

“I’ve been selling here (on Jalan Pintu Kecil) for seven years and had been controlled three times. But, I’m confused where to go. So, it’s a risk to get controlled at any time,” she uttered.
