Illegal, 20 Houses & 1,000 Stalls Flattened Out

300 joint personnel tore down 20 permanent houses stood atop the East Flood Canal (KBT), starting from Cipinang Besar Selatan (CBS) Bridge until Cipinang Indah, Jatinegara Sub-District, East Jakarta, Tuesday (12/9). The personnel are from East Flood Canal (KBT) Technical Management Unit, Satpol PP, army/police, local urban village, and sub-district  

The land is planned to be transformed into an artery road and a green open space (RTH)

Those buildings were demolished due to standing on artery road. 8 trucks also deployed to the field to transport the rest of the demolishment debris.

 

Head of KBT Technical Management Unit, Jakarta Public Works Department, Mustajab disclosed the land was actually acquired in 2012, but until now building owners recklessly stay.

 

"The land is planned to be transformed into an artery road and a green open space (RTH). For initial phase, the artery road will be built up to 6 kilometers, starting from Cipinang Besar Selatan until Pondok Kopi with 18 meters wide per land," he revealed.

 

Besides that, personnel also controlled 1,000 illegal stalls alongside the KBT because of its existence leads to plants and grasses damaged.
