East Jakarta Socializes Odd-even Traffic Policy at Four Points

Some 40 officers of the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency have been alerted to monitor and socialize the odd-even traffic policy at four different points.

Most drivers already know this policy has been applied today

Those four points are Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jalan MT Haryono, and Jalan Raya Pramuka.

Traffic Engineering Division Head Bernhard Tobing expressed that for the first day they only helped socialize the odd-even traffic policy to motorists, without giving sanctions to violators.

Its socialization will be ongoing from now until June 10, 2022. Then the sanction would be active for drivers on June 13.

"From observations in the field, most drivers already know this policy has been applied today," he added.

Supervision and Control Division Head Riki Erwinda added there had been three banners about the policy posted at Jalan Pramuka, the intersection of Jalan Ahmad Yani to Jalan Matraman, and at BPKP Pedestrian Bridge (JPO).

"We want to direct vehicles that do not match the date to other roads where the policy is not in place," he stated.
