Djarot to Visit 6 Churches This Evening

Vice Jakarta Governor Djarot Saiful Hidajat together with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) will visit some churches in the capital city to monitor the situation on this Christmas Eve.

We will visit several churches, both Catholic and Protestant churches

Besides Forkopimda, Djarot will also be accompanied by City Police Chief Insp. Gen. Unggung Cahyono and City Commander (Pangdam Jaya) Maj. Gen. Agus Sutomo. They are scheduled to depart from City Hall at 6.30 PM and visit six churches, namely Menteng Theresia Church and Kwitang GKI Church (Central Jakarta), Matraman Santo Yoseph Church and Pondok Kopi GPIB Surya Kasih Church (East Jakarta), as well as Tanjung Priok Salib Suci Church and Tugu Semper Church (North Jakarta).

“We will visit several churches, both Catholic and Protestant churches. We will be mobile while congratulating (Christians for Christmas) and giving donations. Hopefully the Christians would feel safe and comfortable,” stated Djarot, at City Hall, Wednesday (12/24).

Djarot Not Involved in Civil Servants Reshuffle

In addition, Djarot asks all Jakartans to take part in maintaining city’s security and convenience during Christmas celebrations.

“Please help us, so Christmas celebrations in Jakarta would be completely safe and conducive,” he pleaded.
