Transjakarta Receives Reply Visit from UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy

Transjakarta received a visit from the British prime minister's trade envoy to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philipines, and the ASEAN Economic Community Richard Graham to their head office in Cawang, East Jakarta.

It was a response to the visit of the Transjakarta Board of Directors to London some time ago to discuss the electrification plan for Transjakarta buses.

Graham's arrival was accompanied by Country Manager Indonesia - UK Export Finance Oliver Richards; Senior Trade Advisor for Infrastructure Richard Michael; Senior Trade Advisor Efrizal Saputra; and Senior Trade Manager - UK Northern Powerhouse for Indonesia and South East Asia Dewi Sari.

As from Transjakarta, President Director M Yana Aditya and his board of directors namely Division Head and Expert Staff for Transjakarta.

"I'm very impressed with Transjakarta's strong commitment to decarbonizing public transportation. The British government stands ready to help with the mission," he expressed, Wednesday (6/15).

He explained that the Switch bus is currently being prepared to come to Jakarta. He hoped that it could be the first step in opening partnerships with other electric bus companies in the UK.

"Let's use this momentum to build stronger bridges, and greener buses, between the UK and Indonesia," he hoped.

PT Transjakarta President Director M Yana Aditya acknowledged that he was very pleased with Graham's visit with his staff and hoped that this good relationship would continue. It was also used to carry out further discussions on the plan to procure electric buses.

"Thank you for your support to us. We are increasingly optimistic that we can immediately switch to using an electric fleet as a whole," he closed.
