The Ministry of Transportation and PT MRT Jakarta delegation paid a visit to several essential officials from the Ministry of the Japanese Government.
Alhamdulillah, sooner or later, there will be a signing of funding certainty from Japan
The visit was made to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MILT); Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC); Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); and Prime Minister's Special Advisor to the Cabinet Mori Masafumi; and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
It discussed the acceleration of development phases 2 and 3, as well as the development of a transit-oriented work area and a potential investment point on the route. There was also a market gathering and hearing related to the work of CP 205 and CP 206 phase 2 MRT Jakarta.
Jamming at Station to Entertain MRT PassengersPT MRT Jakarta President Director William Sabandar said his party explained the development progress is currently working on phase 2 from the Bundaran HI to the City in the meeting.
“Two acceleration projects are ongoing, namely physical and system. The Japanese government, through JICA, in the meeting has committed to accelerating the project," he expressed, in a written statement, Thursday (6/23).
To follow up on it, there would be a signing of a commitment or pledge of Japanese funding for the addition of the phase 2 development budget, including for phase 2B development.
"There is also a commitment to accelerate the implementation of the east-west corridor," he added.
As for the construction of the east-west corridor, they would focus on the Jakarta segment which is about 23 kilometers long from Ujung Menteng to Tomang.
On the other hand, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi who led the delegation appreciated the support for the successful construction and operation of phase 1 MRT Jakarta.
In a press conference from the Embassy of Indonesia in Japan, he said that they also supported the construction of phase 2, which was a clear proof of good relations between the two countries and opened up opportunities for them if they wanted to return to support the development of phase 3.
"What we are doing here is trying to carry out infrastructure projects well, including those that receive support from Japan, namely MRT Jakarta," he explained.
Further, he conveyed that their response to the construction of phase 2 starting from the Bundaran HI to Kota and then continuing to Ancol, was very good. Because of that, the discussion content of the meeting was narrowed thus the project could run well and quickly.
"We are also discussing the east-west route. Alhamdulillah, sooner or later, there will be a signing of funding certainty from Japan for the MRT Jakarta project from the south-north and east-west," he closed.
