North Jakarta Accelerates Booster Vaccination Program

The North Jakarta Government continues to accelerate the COVID-19 booster vaccination. As of June 27, 2022, booster vaccines had been given to 589,281 residents or about 46.12 percent of the total 1,277,848 targeted residents.

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head Lisbet Regina Panjaitan said the booster vaccination rate only covered the targeted residents aged 18 years and over. Whereas for residents aged 6-17 years only up to the second dose.

"We are targeting the booster vaccination rate to reach at least 70 percent on August 17," he conveyed, Tuesday (6/28).

To reach the target, her side targeted administering booster vaccines to 14,825 residents per day. On average, booster vaccines must be given to 2,470 residents in each sub-districts or 480 people in each urban village in a day.

"We are trying to achieve the target by opening vaccination service centers at urban village offices, sub-district offices, schools, RPTRAs, and collaborating with various parties. We also need support from companies to require all employees to get booster shots," she explained.

In general, vaccination rates for residents aged 12 and over have reached 117.81 percent or 1,953,602 people for the first dose and 102.87 percent or 1,705,818 people for the second dose.
