Governor Promotes Complete Immunization for Children at 2022 World Immunization Week

The Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) holds the peak event of 2002 World Immunization Week at Lapangan Banteng or Banteng Square, Central Jakarta, Saturday (4/23). This year, they raised a theme of 'Build a Healthy Family, Overcome the Pandemic with a Complete Immunization' which adapted from the global theme of 'Long Life for All Pursuit of A Long Life Well Lived'.

When we carry out vaccination, everyone is involved thus cooperation from collaborators is needed

In his remarks, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan appealed to its residents to give a complete immunization for children. This way, children would be protected from Extraordinary Events (KLB) or Diseases That Can Be Prevented By Immunization (PD3I), such as Polio, Measles, and Diphtheria which spread very quickly.

"We hope health workers, community, local government officials, and development partners can be more enthusiastic about carrying out immunization programs to achieve the goals of healthy and quality families," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID's Press Release.

He also appreciated the COVID-19 vaccination collaboration as an effort to overcome the pandemic in Jakarta. He also gave a certificate of gratitude to several representatives of collaborating partners for their participation in helping the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination in Jakarta.

For information, the Jakarta Government had given vaccines, consisting of dose 1 to 12.5 million people, dose 2 to 10.6 million people, dose 3 or booster to 3.3 million people. This achievement was made possible thanks to the participation of all COVID-19 vaccination collaborators.

Therefore, the Government showed its appreciation to all collaborators who had organized the vaccination service to make it easier for the public to access vaccines.

"When we carry out vaccination, everyone is involved thus cooperation from collaborators is needed. Today, there are 16 collaborators involved in today's vaccination. For example, Polda Metro Jaya. There are no main tasks for vaccination, as well for TNI. But when it comes to humanity, there is no limit to the main function, there is only a pure feeling to help each other," he asserted.

"Vaccination is not a program, but a movement because everyone is involved and called to collaborate. This proves that Jakarta is a home full of good people who help each other," he added.
