MRT Jakarta Becomes Reference for Commuter Train Operators in Asia

PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) will develop the company's business through consulting and training services because several companies in Asia have requested these services.

During three years of operation, our travel time percentage is 100 percent on time

PT. MRT Jakarta President Director William Sabandar mentioned that his side had three mandates namely, building a lane, operating, and developing transport-oriented development (TOD). After completing the phase 1 line, MRT Jakarta has been operating it for three years.

"During three years of operation, our travel time percentage is 100 percent on time," he stated, Friday (7/1).

The achievement made several operators want to learn from MRT Jakarta. One of them is Ho Chi Minh City Metro, a commuter operator in Ho Chi Minh Citym Vietnam that requested training related to the operation, maintenance, passenger service, safety, financial risk, construction, and finance.

PT. MRT Jakarta Operation and Maintenance Director Muhammad Effendi added that other operators in Asia also wished to involve in consultation and training. They were JR East and the Department of Transportation Philippines.

Not only using MRT operational capabilities as a reference, but training materials that allow participants to practice in the field are also one of MRT Jakarta's strengths.

"Besides train drivers, there aren't many companies that let other people in and try to operate it. We even give them job shadow opportunities," he said.
