Jakarta Binamarga Department will recycle some of roads foundation structure in the capital that often damaged due to incapability to withstand the load. Some roads that will be recycled this year are Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Jalan Pemuda, Jalan Pramuka, Jalan Kyai Caringin with budget allocations from the APBD (City Budget) of Rp 60 billion in 2015.

Road Maintenance Head of Jakarta Binamarga Department, Sukowibowo said, the repair of damaged roads point in this year is focused on recycling activities. Where the structure of the existing road base will be dismantled to a depth of approximately 30 cm and then re-coated.

"We will start the recycling process by scratched up the road foundation approximately of 30 cm, we apply new cement, than we tier the new layer," said Sukowibowo at City Hall, Thursday (1/15).

Suko explained the essence of recycling technical work is remodel the construction under the road and upgrade the total coating on it without having to lift up the road.

"So there is no road elevation, we only repair the foundation, maybe we just add a 7 cm layer," he added.

Suko added that he takes the arterial roads that have been damaged in structure condition and wavy as on Jalan Pemuda.

According to Suko, by the recycling method, the durability of the repaired roads is targeted to reach five years. The repaired roads foundation is also able to hold weight on it.

The recycling road process is still waiting the disbursement of 2015 City Budget that still has not been passed until now.
