Muharram Festival, Deputy Governor Supports Charity Donations for Orphans and Wagon Coachmen

Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria attended charity donations for 2,850 orphans, 3,050 poor people, and 100 wagon coachmen initiated by Jakarta BAZNAS BAZIS, where it was the result of collaboration with the Jakarta administration and Jakarta people.

It was part of the peak of the Islamic New Year, Muharram 1444 Hijri/2022 which took place at the Ragunan Zoo, South Jakarta, on Monday (8/22). At the festival, around 150 orphans and 15 wagon coachmen were involved as the beneficiary representative.
Deputy Governor appreciated and expressed his support for the collaboration built by the community with the administration and parties who have contributed to collecting and distributing aid through Jakarta BAZNAS BAZIS.

He added that it cannot be separated from the role of Muzaki (people who are obligated to give alms) who come from entrepreneurs, employees, and the general public who have distributed zakat, infaq, and alms through Jakarta BAZNAS BAZIS.
"We thank those who have been able to manage the distribution of zakat, infaq, and alms for the benefit of the community, especially for the needy," he added.
Jakarta BAZNAS BAZIS Chairperson Akhmad Abubakar explained that 100 wagon coachmen received a total compensation or assistance of Rp 90,600,000, while 2,850 orphans and 3,050 poor people received a total compensation or assistance of Rp 5,900,000,000.
"With this activity, we want to make them happy," he stressed.
He hoped that the orphans who received the aid could one day become the next successful generation. "Hopefully, they will become the next generation and human resources who will advance BAZNAS BAZIS and the administration," he closed.
As for the information, the 150 orphans held convoy in Ragunan area by riding 15 wagons that have been decorated and repaired by Jakata BAZNAS BAZIS. In addition, the orphans were given animal education by the officers of the Ragunan Zoo.
