Cash Free Day, City Supports Payment Digitization Innovation and Socialization

Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria attended the Digital Ecosystem activity titled 'Cash Free Day 2022' initiated by Bank DKI, at Arena Thamrin 10 Food and Creative Park, Central Jakarta, Sunday (9/11).

We invite you to support various programs that have been launched by Bank DKI in supporting the development of MSMEs

He said that the Jakarta Provincial Government fully supports innovation or development, as well as socialization of digitalization in payment transactions or non-cash payments in order to increase financial inclusion in Jakarta.

As for the information, the government through Bank DKI has collaborated with Bank Indonesia to innovate in developing a payment digitization system. Thereby, through Cash Free Day, it was expected to be able to educate and provide socialization to the public regarding the digitalization of payments developed in Jakarta. This activity was deemed successful in attracting the interest of Jakartans to experience the non-cash transaction innovation developed by Bank DKI.

"Socialization by taking advantage of the momentum like today has a big influence in instilling habits in the community. In the beginning, we have to increase socialization, give understanding, until it is accepted and carried out by the community and one day it will become a habit. This change is not easy but it can be realized with various strategies," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

Technology is currently developing so rapidly. Along with the development of technology, various activities can be done digitally, one of which is through cellular phones. Now, in various shopping places in Jakarta, online transaction systems have been spread.

As we know, Bank Indonesia has developed the digitization of payments in Indonesia by launching a Quick Response (QR) Code. It is used for payments through a served-based electronic money application or mobile banking called QR Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS).

QRIS is said to carry the spirit of UNGGUL (Universal, Easy, Profitable, and Direct). It aims to push transaction efficiency, accelerate financial inclusion, promote MSMEs, which in turn can encourage economic growth.

He then appreciated Bank DKI which has worked hard to develop payment digitization via JakOne Mobile. In fact, as of July 2022, they generated transaction growth through JakOne Mobile by 29.42% or as much as 477,262 year on year (YOY).

"Besides QRIS transactions, as of July 2022, JakOne Mobile users have touched 1.7 million. They were recorded to have carried out 12 million transaction volumes with a nominal value of more than Rp 11 trillion. That means, they have started to get used to doing non-cash transactions. This is a very good result, and we are confident that it will continue to grow going forward," he explained.

At the same time, he also appreciated the Cash Free Day 2022 event. It also prompts all people to start getting used to being open to technological developments that provide convenience and comfort, especially with various technological developments in the field of transactions.

"On behalf of the Jakarta government, we welcome, are grateful, and are proud that during the three days of Cash Free Day Bank DKI, it has shown good improvement efforts through increased innovation. We invite you to support various programs that have been launched by Bank DKI in supporting the development of MSMEs, through promotion and financing," he concluded.

Bank DKI President Director, Fidri Arnaldy utterred that Bank DKI currently continues to innovate and make real contributions, especially in the digital field towards the first BPD bank in Indonesia. One of Bank DKI's digital innovations, apart from scan to pay QRIS, was the development of digital lending, where customers can take credit via smartphones connected to the OJK, as well as the Population and Civil Registration Agency.

Then Financial Services Authority Office for Regional 1 Jakarta-Banten Head, Roberto Akyuwen gave appreciation to Bank DKI performance which has taken the right steps, as evidenced by the award received by Bank DKI. It is in line with the implementation of digital transformation in the financial services sector to support the increase in public financial inclusion conducted by the OJK.

As for the information, the 'Cash Free Day 2022' event lasts for three days, from September 9 to 11, 2022 at Thamrin 10 Food and Creative Park, Central Jakarta. Visitors could enjoy a variety of culinary options available at various booths at Thamrin 10 by making payments using the scan to pay QRIS method via JakOne Mobile and JakOne Pay.

They also do not have to worry when transacting at Thamrin 10. It is because Bank DKI's QRIS has been licensed by Bank Indonesia which can be used on payment applications from any provider, whether bank or non-bank.

Besides providing the experience of non-cash transactions via JakOne Mobile and JakOne Pay super apps, the Bank DKI Cash Free Day event also spoiled visitors with the appearance of Maliq & D'Essentials. There were also modern dance competitions at the high school level throughout Jakarta, performances of Wayang Bharata, Zumba, and flashmobs which further enlivened the event.
