In his speech, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan disclosed that the Muara Angke Port is a manifestation of the completion of the Jakarta administration's efforts in facilitating all aspects of the needs of the Seribu Islands residents. Thereby, there is justice between the islanders and the mainland, especially in terms of citizen mobility.

"Jakarta is a city consisting of mainland and islands. Therefore, development in Jakarta must reach all. Alhamdulillah, this afternoon one of the intentions to carry out development in all aspects was completed," he asserted, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

“In terms of population mobility in Seribu Islands, they have facilities on par with the locals living on the mainland. This port has modern facilities, can accommodate many passengers, and is comfortable. Surely, it will increase the intensity of population movement from the island to the mainland and vice versa, and it will increase productivity," he added.

He hoped that the port itself would be well guarded, as it was expected to improve the welfare of islanders through the ease of accessing transportation from the island to the mainland.

"Hope this facility is well maintained and we hope that it will improve the welfare of the island community. Because we know for several years the program in Seribu Islands is comprehensive," he explained.

As for the information, the Jakarta administration in recent years has intensified the construction of equal and fair facilities for Seribu Islands residents. These include the construction of Jakgrosir to fulfill basic needs equivalent to land, clean water supply, and waste management thus the island becomes clean and comfortable. Moreover, solar power plants are also based on solar energy and the construction of health and educational facilities.

“This is all part of making the Seribu Islands feel the same progress on the mainland. So, we're grateful and hope this facility will be useful for all,” he stated.

Further, the port revitalization covering a 6,700-m2 land has a variety of facilities that are friendly to people with disabilities, such as ramps, lifts, escalators, toilets for the public and disabled, a large parking area, canteen/food court, gate-in system entrance with e-ticketing system, garden, CCTV cameras, prayer room, and a spacious and comfortable waiting room for 800 people, departure information screen.

It is not only a link for locals with residents in mainland Jakarta, but also a symbol of equality for islanders to enjoy the same facilities as residents on the mainland of Jakarta. It is able to accommodate up to 2,000 people. There are 2 types of ships that serve the route to the Thousand Islands, namely the Transportation Agency (Dishub)'s boat with a ticket price range of Rp 44,000 to Rp 74,000 and a traditional boat with a ticket price of Rp 82,000 to Rp 150,000.
