 14 Sensor Berbiaya Rendah Dipasang

14 Low-Cost Sensors Installed in Air Quality Monitoring System

The Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) collaborated with Trisakti University to install 14 low-cost sensors (LCS) near air quality monitoring equipment.

These devices will be deployed in several places in Jakarta

It aims to ensure that the data produced by the LCS is of high quality (data validation process).

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said that the use of low-cost sensors is expected to be a tool that can be used to expand coverage and map hotspots, as well as evaluate policies that have been implemented by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"However, we also do not stop providing monitoring equipment with reference grades to provide qualified air quality data for the community," he expressed, Tuesday (10/4).

As for the information, the agency already has air quality monitoring equipment with reference grades in five cities in Jakarta.

The data produced is of high quality, but the procurement of this tool requires large funds.

"While LCS can be purchased with low funds, the data must be validated and compared with reference grades," he stated.

Through a collaboration program with Vital Strategies, his party will also install these 14 LCS in one of the reference grades for one month to validate the data.

"First calibrate a month, afterward these devices will be deployed in several places in Jakarta to look for points of poor air quality," he stated.
