Munjul Reservoir Begins to Be Beautified as Tourist Destination

After passing through a long dredging, the Munjul Reservoir on Jalan Wijaya Kusuma, RW 04 Munjul Urban Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta has begun to be beautified by making a sheet pile and a jogging track. It is carried out through the Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency.

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar said the revitalization work is carried out following the plan to create a multi-fungal reservoir. Apart from being a flood control, it is also a tourist destination.

To make it beautiful and fresh, the sheet pile would be made with holes for planting grass. When the grass would thrive, it would cover the sheet pile made of cast concrete.

"We will make it a new tourist destination in Cipayung," he stated, when he did a site inspection, Tuesday (10/25).

Therefore, he hoped that the reservoir, which has five meters deep, could minimize inundation in residential areas downstream, such as in Setu, Halim Perdanakusuma, Cipinang Melayu, and other points.
