Accompanying President, Heru Watches 2022 Indo Defense Expo & Forum Performance

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum, which is held at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Jakarta as a national barometer

According to him, it was a manifestation of the national army (TNI)'s seriousness in creating security and a sense of security for Indonesian citizens, especially in Jakarta. The existence of defense equipment owned by Indonesia's defense would reflect how strong this nation is in maintaining sovereignty.

"It shows that the Indonesian people are consistent in maintaining sovereignty to create a sense of security and peace for the community against potential threats from outside, especially for Jakarta as a national barometer," he stated, Wednesday (11/2).

He hoped that the army could be more advanced in all respects, and consistently maintained good cooperation between agencies, one of which was with the Regional Government.

"Hope the army and the central and regional governments will continue to synergize in maintaining security," he added.

In his press statement, President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo appreciated this event as an event to promote defense and security equipment products. He also prompted increased cooperation in the defense industry.

He assessed that the exhibition was important to enhance cooperation with companies from abroad. The domestic defense industry should participate in responding to current global developments.

"Indications of the defense budget in NATO countries, in the Middle East and also in East Asia, there is a tendency to rise very drastically and the emergence of new military technologies we also need to follow together," he added.

He appreciated the development of the domestic defense industry which was considered to have gone very well. One of them is Defense Industry Indonesia or Defend ID, which targets to enter 50 world-class defense companies.

"With the products that we have now must be developed as well as possible," he exclaimed.

He hoped that the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum could achieve the target of as much cooperation as possible in the context of increasing the domestic defense industry.

"We have to optimize cooperation, thus we can transfer technology for the latest military technologies," he stressed.

Defense Minister, Prabowo Subianto uttered that the Indo Defense 2022 Expo & Forum was attended by 905 companies consisting of 158 domestic companies and 747 foreign companies from 59 countries.

He went on to say that the forum had the theme 'Peace, Prosperity, Strong Defense' which means peace, prosperity, and strong defense.

It is emphasized that Indonesia is committed to always being open in external relations with all countries, carrying out defense diplomacy, and increasing defense power by developing domestically made defense equipment, Indonesia's defense mission to the world.

"Indonesia is committed to encouraging and advancing the defense industry towards independence in fulfilling alpalhankam or defense and security equipment," he stressed.

As for the information, the exhibition was also attended by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung; TNI Chief Gen. Andhika Perkasa; and National Police chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
