West Jakarta Social Sub-Department is going to deliver aid in form of productive economic business to 400 lower-income families. The aid is hoped can lighten their burden.

Head of West Jakarta Social Sub-Department, Ika Yuli Rahayu explains such aid with a total amount of Rp 1 billion can be used to open a creative economy business. By so, those receivers' economy can increase as long as they could manage such aid well.

"Last year, we gave similar aid to 1,600 families in eight sub-districts. This year, its number is decreasing due to budget cuts," she told, Friday (1/30).

According to her, he initially filed budget for productive economic business amounted to Rp 9 billion, which is hoped to be distributed to 5,000 lower-income families. Unfortunately, the Legislative Council (DPRD) only approved Rp1 billion.

Additionally, she explains, her sub-department also plans to provide basic needs to 2,610 children, 150 disabled people and 2,515 elderly.
