Jakarta Conducts Anti-Littering Act Operation Using Drones During CFD

The Jakarta Environment Agency, Communications, and the Jakarta Informatics, and Statistics Agency Agency (Kominfotik), conducted an anti-littering act (OTT) operation conventionally by opening command posts and using drones against violators who litter during Car Free Day (CFD) along Jalan Sudirman - Thamrin, Sunday (11/6).

It is a routine agenda by the Acting Governor's mandate for environmental cleanliness

Jakarta Environment Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said this OTT operation was conducted to take action against violators who littered in Car Free Day activities at the provincial, city, and identified locations where residents often found littering.

On today's operation, 15 violators were netted who were subject to forced money fines totaling Rp 710,000, and four were given social sanctions for picking up trash on site.

OTT Operation Carried Out at Kelapa Island's Main Port

He explained that as many as 194 officers were alerted at seven points, precisely in front of the Jaya Building, Jalan Sumenep, in front of Indonesia Kempinski Hotel, Patung Sudirman Flyover, in front of Chase Plaza Building, CIMB Building, and FX Sudirman Mall.

"It is a routine agenda by the Acting Governor's mandate for environmental cleanliness in Jakarta and minimizing the impact of the rainy season,” he explained.

He went on to say that the operation using drones was also conducted at the city administration level and in locations prone to activities by residents who littered. It was on the legal basis of Bylaw No. 3/2013 on Waste Management.
