February, Lenggang Jakarta will Be Operated

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) ensures the arrangement program for street vendor at ex-IRTI (Indonesian Restaurants and Parks Association) or Lenggang Jakarta Program will be operated officially next month.

According to Basuki, the Lenggang Jakarta program was delayed due to misunderstanding between PT PLN (Electric State Company) and Jakarta Financial Management Body (BPKD) in electrification.

"We still wait PLN because there is a misunderstanding at the past, PLN wants to install electricity substation while BPKD asks to only rent it," said Basuki, Thursday (1/29).

IRTI Monas Street Vendor Training is 5 Years

Basuki added, he was ordered BPKD Head, Heru Budi Hartono to solve the electricity problem, so Lenggang Jakarta can be operated in early February.

As known, Lenggang Jakarta is planned to be occupied by 339 registered street vendors in Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives Agency (KUMKMP).

Jakarta KUMKMP has also provided training of 339 street vendors related to how serving healthy foods in order to fulfill the health standards.
