City to Stop Grants of 4 Supporting Regions

Jakarta Provincial Government will not give grants to 4 surrounding cities. The action is taken since they have not reported the 2014 grant accountability report (LPJ).

No LPJ means no grant. That's the rule

Head of Jakarta Financial Management Body (BPKD), Heru Budi Hartono said, until the submission deadline on January 31, the four partner cities such as Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab), Bekasi City Government (Pemkot), South Tangerang City Government (Pemkot), and Tangerang City Government (Pemkot) still have not gave their report. It means this year grant will not be given to them.

"No LPJ means no grant. That's the rule," said Heru when contacted, Sunday (2/1).

Grant Disbursement for City Council Delayed

Whereas, Hartono continued, city has included the grants of 5 cities in 2015 City Budget (APBD). The details, Bogor Rp 100.407 billion, Bekasi Rp 200,018 billion, Tangerang, Rp 2.436 billion, South Tangerang Rp 164.8 billion, and Tangerang Regency Rp 167.94 billion.

"In accordance with article 19 paragraph 1, Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No.32/ 2011 on Guidelines for Grants and Social Assistance, the user shall be responsible in formal and material," he continued.

Heru added, the responsibility of the grants is also arranged in article 19 paragraph 2 letters a, b, c as the LPJ of grant receiver must include the complete evidence of expenditure and appropriate with legislature.

"The grants are given based on the rule, if we violate it, we obviously guilty and it can be dangerous. This is not our money; we can’t just give it freely. All have rules, if there is no LPJ, we are not going to give it," he uttered.
