We're still trying to recede inundation quickly

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has reported that there are currently high tides that have the potential to cause coastal flooding (tidal wave) at several points in Jakarta.

It is based on information on coastal flood alerts released by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) for the period December 6-13,  2022.

BPBD: Residents Must Be Aware of Potential Land Movements

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji said that so far there were four neighborhoods or 0.013 percent of the 30,470 neighborhoods in Jakarta.

"We're still trying to recede inundation quickly," he expressed, Tuesday (12/6).

His party was deploying personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each area, including coordinating with the Water Resources Agency (SDA), Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) in order to suck up inundation and ensure the water channels function properly with the local urban village and sub-district heads.

"We urge the public to remain vigilant and aware of the potential for inundation. In an emergency, call 112 immediately. This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he stated.

North Jakarta (Four Neighborhoods):

Pluit Urban Village

- Total: 2 neighborhoods

- Height: 20 centimeters

- Cause: Rob or Tidal Wave

Marunda Urban Village

- Total: 2 neighborhoods

- Height: 30-35 centimeters

- Cause: Rob or Tidal Wave
