Heru Increases Synergy for Safe and Peaceful Christmas Celebration

Hopefully, this synergy can bring a meaningful, peaceful, and joyous Christmas celebration for all who celebrate it

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono received a visit from the 2022 Christmas Celebration Committee and representatives from the Jakarta Archdiocese, at the Jakarta City Hall, Monday (12/19) morning.

He was accompanied by Jakarta Financial Management Board (BPKD) Head, Michael Rolandi Cesnanta; Jakarta Education Budgetary and Planning Agency Head, Gunas Mahdianto; Jakarta Regional Office Acting Head, M. Mawardi.

Jakarta Gears Up to Secure Christmas Celebrations

There were also representatives from the Communion of Churches in Indonesia, Jakarta Region. Besides staying in touch, the meeting discussed plans for the Jakarta Provincial Government's Joint Christmas Celebration activities with Indonesian Christian and Catholic Communities. The Acting Governor asserted that the Jakarta Government was committed to increasing synergy to maintain and ensure that this year's series of worship activities and Christmas celebrations run well, safely, and peacefully.

"I thank you and appreciate you for your prayers and support. We'll work together with the National Army (TNI) - Police, stakeholders, as well as the Jakarta Christian and Catholic community thus the 2022 Christmas series of services and celebrations go well. Hopefully, this synergy can bring a meaningful, peaceful, and joyous Christmas celebration for all who celebrate it," he expressed.

On the other hand, a Representative from the Jakarta Archdiocese, Commission on Interfaith Relations, Pastor Antonius Suyadi also expressed his appreciation to the Jakarta Government for their commitment and support in ensuring that the Christmas worship and celebrations run well and peacefully.

Representing Christians, he hoped that this year's Christmas worship and celebrations would run safely and peacefully.

"Surely, the form of synergy or cooperation is how the Jakarta Government supports to ensure a sense of peace and security in each church for the Christmas celebration. The presence of the leaders or officials of the Jakarta Government also really supports efforts to feel cared for and guarantee a sense of security," he said.
