Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended a Cross-Sectoral Coordination Meeting in the framework of Centralized Police Operations "Lilin Jaya 2022" at Polda Metro Jaya Meeting Hall Building, South Jakarta, Monday (12/19).
The meeting was also attended by Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol, Fadil Imran; Pangdam Jaya Commander Chief, Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto; and elements of Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda).
Jakarta Gears Up to Secure Christmas CelebrationsTo make it more optimal, the Jakarta administration was committed to creating a conducive atmosphere that is safe, orderly, and comfortable in Jakarta during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, including coordinating with National Army (TNI) - Police and other related units.
"Together with Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya, we opened an executive meeting to discuss Christmas and New Year activities. Our concentration today is Christmas activities and later is New Year's activities. We'll send all elements to smoothen it. We had an agreement earlier, later each of us under the ranks of the Jakarta Government, Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya at one point will have a technical meeting at the managerial level," he explained.
He also urged all elements of society to jointly maintain security and order in Jakarta in every worship activity and celebration of religious holidays.
"I want the urban village heads, sub-district heads, and mayors to contribute in terms of security. Thank you Mr. Polda and Mr. Pangdam, hope our synergy can run smoothly," he uttered.
Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol. Fadil Imran in his speech explained that the operation Lilin Jaya 2022 would be carried out by Polda Metro Jaya for 11 days, starting from December 23, 2022 to January 2, 2023.
It would be concentrated in crowded places such as churches or other places that function as places of worship; shopping centers; and tourist sites.
"Hope this meeting can unite directions and steps in organizing the operation Lilin Jaya 2022. Thus, community activities can be conducted smoothly, orderly, and conducive. Appreciation and gratitude to the Jakarta administration, Kodam Jaya, and all stakeholders who have been working hand in hand to create a conducive Kamtibmas situation. With an inter-agency collaboration strategy, preparation for Christmas and New Year's celebrations will be more mature if we solve them together," he added.
Pangdam Jaya Chief, Maj. Gen. Untung Budiharto asserted that the security system must be improved collaboratively and have good cross-sectoral coordination. Government officials for each institution must always be committed to increasing preparedness.
He also asked that some potential vulnerabilities or security and order disturbances could be anticipated during this Christmas and New Year celebrations.
