SMPN 159 Jembatan Besi Really Needs Repair

A building of Public Junior High School (SMPN) 159, Jembatan Besi, Tambora, West Jakarta, needs an urgent repair. Students and teachers hope the related unit can immediately repair the school because its condition is very worrying and disturbing the learning and teaching activities (KBM).

As quoted by beritajakarta.com, the school that located on Jalan Jembatan Besi Rata No. 24 already seen porous on the window frames and classroom doors. Even many glass window are broken and cracked, likewise with its floor.

The school is also often inundated as high as 30-40 centimeters during rainy season. Not only that, the location close to citizen residential always makes noise that disturbs concentration students.

Responding on this matter, SMPN 159 Principal, Abdul Rival expressed his side has repeatedly filed renovation to Jakarta Education Department, but there has been no further action until now.

"I have served as the principal for a year. Before me, the previous principal also been filed the same thing, but the result is still nil," he told, Sunday (2/8).

He told that school that was established in 1977 with 1,623 square meters wide, having 16 classrooms with 540 students in morning and noon class.

"Hopefully, the renovation will be realized soon. If our school is not repaired, the damage will be more severe and endanger teachers and students," he hoped.
