Four Culverts Attached on Jalan Kelapa Dua Wetan in Anticipation of Flooding

Four culvert boxes measuring 150x150 centimeters were installed on Jalan Kelapa Dua Wetan in front of Gg Swadaya, RT 07/06, Kelapa Dua Wetan, Ciracas, East Jakarta, Thursday (1/19) at around 2 AM.

Ciracas Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force Coordinator, Deby expressed the box culvert concrete installation was carried out, as the condition of the water channel at that location had been damaged and some had collapsed.

"We send ten workers and one heavy equipment to install such culverts at the location," he said.

According to him, the cast concrete channels at the location were broken already and had started to slide. If it was not repaired, the condition will get worse considering that the water discharge in the aqueduct is quite high during heavy rains.

If repairs to the channels were still using river stone and cast, it would take a long time and could disrupt traffic in the surrounding area.

"To be sturdy and the processing process is fast, we replace it with box culverts," he stated.
