Malang to Immitates E-Parking System in Jakarta

E-parking system application in Jakarta to increase Provincial Revenue (PAD) of Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) appreciated by Malang City Government (Pemkot). Moreover, the Malang Mayor, M Anton along with his team directly met Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja 'Ahok' Purnama at City Hall to learn about the parking system, transportation management, and public service in capital.

Anton added, his side expected to increase revenue by applying the e-parking in Malang.

Jakarta will Be an Example of Cashless Society, Ahok Says

"We only get small revenue from parking, just around Rp 3 million. Now, we increase the amount to Rp 5 million. Actually, if the system is good, the revenue can be increased to 100 percent or around Rp 10 million. So, we expected this e-parking system can be one of innovation to realize that," he revealed.

Previously, continued Anton, his side also imitate the tax system that applied by Joko Widodo while he leads Jakarta.

"After we apply the system, the result was great. 80 percent of our tax has increased by using this online tax system; we received Rp 100 billion for a year. Now, we want to increase our revenue through the parking system. We assume the electronic system is quite good, so we want to apply it in Malang," he continued.

He also hoped Malang will be a better tourist city and will elaborate the city management from Jakarta.

"Malang is also a tourist, and education city. We have many citizens, so we want to collaborate the system with Jakarta because we assume Malang is same with Jakarta. Jakarta if likened to a sick person, he was in critical condition, while Malang still in normal but will become like Jakarta if we not manage it well," he explained.
